Foam

We visited Greenbank Garden in Glasgow this afternoon. A 2.5 acre walled garden in the grounds of Greenbank House. The garden is cleverily divided into many areas, with water features, parterre, topiary, etc. Very peaceful in the cold, bright sunlight.

Foam by Pilkington Jackson was first shown at the Empire Exhibition in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow in 1938. After being displayed there, it remained in his possession until his death in 1973. It was gifted to the National Trust in 1983 and Greenbank Garden was chosen as the nearest property to its original exhibition site.

We hope the fountain will be playing the next time we visit.
