Faking a jigsaw

Technique Challenge - Week 2 - Bokeh

Inspired by Bobsbitz59 I thought I'd try a composite picture, and bokeh at the same time.

Original photo was of the red and blue lights - I used a decorative hole punch to puch a jigsaw shape in some paper and held it over the lens while taking the photo. I then imported it into photoshop, applied the puzzle texture to it, and added a border to make it seem more 3d (I also cleaned up some of the edges). I used the masking tool to 'cut out' the jigsaw pieces - and added a drop shadow. Finally the background was just a quick photo of the table with a filter applied to make it look a little less life-like which I think makes it look better with the fake jigsaw.
