The jump

You walked with me to the edge of the cliff
then left me there alone.
You were supposed to fall with me.
I wasn't supposed to fall alone.

But when it came time to jump and I took a step closer, ready to fall.
and you took a step back, confused and unsure.

You left me there to fall alone.
falling for you alone.
Falling in love with someone who wasn't falling for me.
