Mud glorious mud

Slapping mud on myself in a hot sulphur pool deep in the jungle of Dominica the storms battling the UK seemed a million miles away.

Dominica is the most eco- sensitive of the Caribbean islands and this low key spa, Ti Kwen Glo Cho, high above the village of Wotten Waven which is famous for its natural hot sulphur springs, is little more than three pools carved out of the rainforest.

We had this secluded bit of paradise all to ourselves for most visitors go to the other spas further down the valley. But our driver recommended this as the most natural and he was right.

Oh yes, I am now a bright orange thanks to the ochre in the water.
