I'm trying mummy!

Euan is trying to stop sucking his thumb and this is his 'trying face'. We visited the dentist on Thursday and she recommended getting them both to stop thumb sucking. I feel really mean already, just stopping Rhona from doing it during the day! I have tried to encourage Euan to decide to do it for himself since he only does it in bed with his blankie.

Today we went to see the Lego Movie, through which Euan sat engrossed, nibbling on popcorn. Rhona couldn't have been less interested, but atleast she was free! Euan came out singing "Everything is awesome" and has been singing it regularly since! After the cinema we went and got some lego movie lego and I said to Euan it was for after he had stopped sucking his thumb. He agreed reluctantly to this and through tea we were telling him ways he could help himself to stop. He refused them all saying he will stop himself and will remember. After tea however, he brought his blankies down and after 10 minutes he suddenly asked for one of my suggestions, a plaster on his thumb to help remind himself as he had accidentally started sucking his thumb. He must have suddenly realised it was more difficult than he had first thought!
