Jerry Lee Lewis - Sweet Dreams (1969)
Don Gibson made his name as a songwriter with this song in 1956 when Faron Young had the first hit with it. Patsy Cline recorded it shortly before she died in a plane crash and had a posthumous hit. Since then almost everyone in the wider canon of country has had a go, the Everly Brothers, Emmylou Harris and Elvis Costello to name a few of the best ones, including Jerry Lee whose extravagent piano flourishes are all over this version.
