Night at the Opera

Some days mustn't be rushed, and today was ones of those so how come it passed so quickly?

Our first stay in Milan and it's pleasantly getting under my skin. The Cathedral is beautiful inside and out and the roof walk is worth the trip alone. A lazy late lunch followed by a quiet few hours.

Then on with the full penguin (photos to follow) and off to La Scala to see the opening night of Il Travatore. L some time ago said that this trip was on her bucket list (along with running a marathon!) so tickets appeared in her Christmas cracker. The evening did not disappoint we were spellbound by the whole experience. To say that the soprano Maria Agrasta as Leonora stole the show would be unkind perhaps on the rest of the cast but she did - the better she sang, the better the others sang, the better the orchestra played....

But the trip was all about a special date with my mrs so despite the many other choices to blip today here's L - our night at the opera.
