The Wind Ghods have relented and wind speeds have dropped; it's also a sunny day here in Foggy Bottom. Still, with a broad distribution of networked turbines there are some areas that would contribute to the nation's energy needs.

Whether today's energy needs could be satisfied by renewables would depend on the scale of the investment, the contributions from hydro-, geothermal, solar, tidal and wave power.
