Last men standing

I wanted to practice my close ups so I went for a walk in a nearby woods this afternoon to see what I could find.
I came upon these poor fellows who were all that were left on an otherwise bare giant oak.
They looked forlorn and vulnerable and I don't expect they'll be able to hang on much longer :(
