Latheronwheel Stack

A short drive down the coast to Latheronwheel today, to have a look at the harbour. We didn't know what to expect, but found a charming little cove, complete with strath, 18th C bridge, ruins, sea stacks, and last but not least, ample parking and a picnic area.

While we were there, two SUVs drove in. Half a dozen people and three dogs piled out. One of the girls headed down the boat ramp, where she started sliding . . . and kept sliding until she was up to her knees in water. Luckily she was wearing wellies. Even the dogs wouldn't go down the ramp.

Then she found she couldn't walk back up. Her companions resorted to pulling her out with a dog lead.
