This weather vane is on top of one of the oldest railway station buildings in the world at Earlestown railway station.the building is derelict but survives from 1835.The triangular track layout at Earlestown represents the oldest junction in the world between two passenger railways, in the form of the first "stationary turntable" or wye ever constructed.
