been trying to do a little get-fit-for-free by taking myself around the park at a pace faster than walking... i'm better than i was (lampposts are handily placed to mark progress :-) ) but the numbers are scary even tho i'm just doing walk-jog-walk-jog in 2-3 min bursts:

lying on the sofa resting heart rate: c65
pottering round the house resting heart rate: c80
ordinary walking in the park: c100
end of a 2min walk (with one previous 2.5min jog): 115
next 2.5min jog: max heart rate 189, av 175

i'm sure it shouldn't go up that far or that fast! i'm leaving the monitor off for a while - tho i may start carrying ID in case of collapsing mid-jog and waking up in the ERI... mind, my recovery is just as fast - final lap is 3.5min, and tho i hit 180 again, in the two mins it took to walk to my house it was down to c145 and another two mins saw it down to c120.
