Olive harvest

This morning I picked 178 olives from the slightly bigger of the two trees we've planted in the garden. This is more than double the number we had last year. If it carries on like this I won't be counting them next year!

I'll salt these to preserve them and we should be able to eat them in a couple of months' time. The method I use is described on my Olives and artichokes blog.

The olives on our smaller tree, the Lucque, are not quite ripe yet, so I'm leaving them for a couple of weeks.
