El Capitan and the Merced River

A wonderful day in the Yosemite Valley today - much better weather than the rain that was forecast, totally blue skies at first, then a light build up of cloud - totally spoiled for choice and I will upload some to Flickr later, but it was this view of El Capitan and its reflection in the Merced river that totally blew me away - we ended the day at the horsetail falls at sunset for the "firefall" - the colours were amazing, but the sun set before the real red colours became evident.
