Scapa Bay

I cycled along to the pier to both see what birds were about and to do my monthly check for oiled birds on the shore from the pier to below Bendigo. Normally I find nothing but had heard that the next section had already been checked by another volunteer and quite a few carcases found. They weren't oiled, though, but casualties of the winter storms.
Sure enough, I found 4 shags, 3 guillemot, 1 razorbill, and 1 puffin.
Live birds included 2 Slavonian grebes, 2 black guillemot, 1 razorbill, 6 red-breasted mergansers, eider, long-tailed ducks, fulmars, raven, heron and 70+ curlew etc.
