Rain and fire

Returned to Scotland fearing the worst but the only evidence of storm damage was these chairs blown over in the patio.

But everyone tells us that Scotland has had its share of rain and gales though nothing like the battering the south of England has had.

We have just learnt that our 90 year old neighbour had her telly explode a week ago setting the house on fire. She managed to get out in time though she has been told that the house is uninhabitable for six months.

Have yet to hear the full story. The local Fire Brigade have pushed a leaflet through all our letterboxes offering to check our electrical appliances.

Most of the houses in this road are over 40 years old with the original wiring. Well, it was bad eough having to worry about rain now we have fire to contend with too.
