S.V.

"Originally written by Robert Southey to his friend Thomas Telford, at the opening of the Caledonian Canal in October, 1822"

This plaque is attached to the wall of a house by the side of the road through Clachnaharry, near to where the canal exits into the Beauly Firth. Although the text is somewhat florid, the sentiment is well meant.

I don't know what S.V. stands for, however.
