Why

Why is it, that birds decide to hang on the other side of the birdfeeder? Why is it that there is enough movement to slightly blur the focus, even though it was crisp and clear before the bird landed? Why ? Why?

I remember the phase (many years back now) when our boys asked "Why?", often when there was no easy answer. But I think there are just as many questions when we get older to0. And answers which we either don't know or perhaps can't be known.

A quick search of the Bible shows over 500 occurrences of the word "why", such as "... that is why ...", others are questions asked by one person or group of people of another, many are questions asked of God such as "if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?" but others too are from God to individuals, such as the occasion when Jesus calmed the storm on the lake ...

The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. (Matthew 8v25-26 NIV)

I guess Jesus still asks the same question today “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?”
