Qiviut: the soft, dense, woolly undercoat of the musk ox

Thanks in part to this winter’s ferocity, BB’s coat has become very thick and shaggy -- particularly around his shoulders. He is beginning to resemble a buffalo.

I am not looking forward to the Spring, when all that black woolly hair comes out in fistfuls, and drifts around the house like tumbleweeds.
