Rain immunity?

I'm afraid not.

I had a meeting with the vicar this morning and when I got to church the friendly local roofer man was there. He came to church one evening when we had a special service on which the Bishop was coming to and I happened to be on duty in the porch when the roofer and his son asked if Father Christmas was coming that night. Unfortunately I could only offer the Bishop and the three year old wasn't too impressed with that. In spite of that, I got into conversation with Roofer Darren and he said that if we ever needed any roofing jobs doing he only lives just down the road and could always come and give us a quote. As it so happened, we did have a roofing job that needed doing and he came to do it. He has been official roofer to the church ever since and has done a fair bit of work for various people in and out of the Parish.

Back to the Blip - the church building has not survived unscathed through the recent deluge - Roofer Darren has had to come and do a few repairs and if you look at the main tower just above the porch you can see a patch which looks a different colour to the rest of the brickwork - this is where rain was actually penetrating the brickwork and leaking into the main porch. The bricks have now been treated with a product which is meant to prevent this happening again. Hope it works! Sounds expensive otherwise.
