A4's at Shildon

A flash drive up the A1 to visit the National Railway Museum at Shildon in County Durham this morning. Thousands of visitors, which meant traffic jams and overflowing car parks and queues at the venue. 6 classic A4 locomotives on view. Fantastic!

The following is copied from the NRM Shildon website:

On 3 July 1938, the A4 class locomotive Mallard raced down Stoke Bank at 126mph to set a new steam locomotive world speed record - in 2013, we've been marking the 75th anniversary of this with a series of commemorative events.
When is the next opportunity for me to see the 6 A4's together?

In Shildon from 15 to the 23 February 2014. As part of our main museum offering, this is free and un-ticketed - simply arrive at the museum.
