Do Dalmatians come from The Dalmatian Coast?

When the going gets tough the boy gets his travel books out. This one was his valentines present and has super cute illustrations. The boy has just said it's his favourite ever book. Surely that means he should take me away to show his appreciation? I'm hoping for Dubrovnic but no booking holidays till after the honeymoon ;)
