Help!

How did I get caught up in this? Help! John, I need to find you. FAST!

These stampeding bronze bison were created by Lloyd Pinay and are located at the entrance to Wanuskewin National Historic Site of Canada about twenty minutes northeast of Saskatoon. There are two other sculptures in the series, including a woman waving a flag to divert the bison in the desired direction and a man in disguise directing them to the jump where they will meet their demise. Virtually every bit of them will be used for food, shelter or clothing.

The Northern Plains Peoples (primarily Cree but also Assiniboine, Saulteaux, Dakota and Blackfoot), whose lives centered around the bison, gathered at this location for more than 6,000 years. University of Saskatchewan archeologists have located a medicine wheel, tipi rings, and artifacts such as pottery and arrow tips at several sites within this 600 acre heritage park.

The Cree word Wanuskewin means “living in harmony” or “having peace of mind".
