Wine

Started off Tuesday with feminisms seminar - really interesting discussion about how Socialism and Feminism kind of came together towards the end of the nineteenth century and feminism became an economic, as well as a gender, issue, and how capitalism came into it all... really fascinating stuff.

Had lunch with Rob, Ellen and Gerald before heading over to Andrew Dickson's talk on Germany and Shakespeare, 'Deutschland ist Hamlet'. Again, another fascinating discussion of concepts which I had never really considered before. Germany's appropriation of Shakespeare, especially Hamlet, significantly at the beginning of the 20th century, and how 'Shakespeare' made the rounds of Europe at the time - or did they? We'll never really know. After an enjoyable wine reception, Andrew was lovely enough to give me an interview discussing arts journalism and what young budding hacks can expect going into such a rapidly developing industry.

Dinner with PhotoSoc really rounded off the day and spent the rest of the evening transcribing the interview and attacking my work mountain. No matter how much you pick away at it, it never seems to get any smaller, does it?
