All along the way...

Maritime rescue

The disabled bulk carrier, Cape Elise, laden with 170,000 tonnes of Hunterston-bound Colombian coal, arrived on the Clyde under tow by tugs after a journey that lasted 10 days in heavy seas. Tow lines snapped daily and the work of the two support vessels crew cannot be underestimated. They clawed their way towards port at a mere 1/2 a knot at times.
We however acted like a small taxi bringing out the engineers to fix her. Very wet and cold even in the sheltered waters.
