Metro closed... we might be terrorists!

I've often grumbled about these doors. They are ridiculously heavy and swing back at you violently. They have often seemed to me to represent the customer service you can receive in Ukraine. Why is nothing made easy for the people here?

I've asked people why they think they've got these doors, there are two sets to get through, and I was told by one teenage student that they are there to protect us in the event of a nuclear holocaust. I also felt that was a revealing answer: How many British teenagers have considered such contingency plans?
