An Artist's Life

Gingerbread House

This lovely Queen Anne house has a very colorful past. It was built and owned by a pair of lovelies of dubious character. They seemed to have many male "visitors" and boarders who took their meals there. No one complained or made a fuss about the ladies and their business. As the bloom faded from their cheeks, the ladies still served meals and every guest left with a smile. The house never went into disrepair since there were so many "volunteers" who would daub paint, fix plumbing, patch plaster, etc.. After the two ladies were buried, the house stood empty. There were a few people who came and went. A friend of mine bought this house, restored what little was needed since the place never faded and turned it into a Christmas Cottage...each room is themed with a huge tree covered with ornaments reflecting that room's theme: circuses, Paris, teddy bears, dolls, etc.. This old house will never die.
