Field Trip

Today I had the "pleasure" of chaperoning a group of six 7th grade boys through the Detroit Institute of Arts for 3 1/2 hours today for a school field trip. It is always nice to be reminded of some of the gems this town holds, like this amazing mural. Two of the boys enjoyed the trip and were genuinely interested in the art. Two were sometimes engaged, sometimes indifferent. Two of them wanted to be anywhere else in the world and hated every minute of it. Now I remember why I haven't missed being a chaperone!
