In the Zone

It's Ansel Adams birthday today.

I carpooled with another fellow to a meeting in Concord, NH. I had hoped to drive on my own so I could photograph along the way.

Snow still clung to pine boughs and fog crept among the weathered barns and ghostly birch. The world was still, cast in silvers and blues, turning yellow and gold as the sun rose above the Green Mountains.

All I could do was watch the flood of light and colors speed by at eighty miles per hour. By the time the windowless meeting ended, there was only ash and brine.

Here is my range of light Ansel, captured not with a handsome Dierdorf 8x10 but with a telephone.
