Homebound

I arrived in London this evening as those who work there were leaving.

I went to see A Taste of Honey at the National Theatre. Quite astonishing to think that Shelagh Delaney wrote it when she was only 18. There's the occasional bit of clunky dialogue, and a word battle every now and then that drags, but mostly it's a compelling portrayal of a fractured mother-daughter relationship, surrounded by a maelstrom of relationships with men, which Delaney leaves you feeling is going to carry on, and on.
