T is for Tree Fern

DDWs February alphabet challenge today is T. On the left is what remains of our Tree Fern, or New Zealand Ponga Fern. Unfortunately a couple of severe winters killed it off along with some other specimens from down under.
The right hand shot is of a vase made from the trunk of a Ponga, and it shows the wonderful patterns hidden within the trunk when it is turned by a craftsman.
We bought this vase in New Zealand when we lived there.
