Home Coming

Jürgen phoned to say the tractor was ready but that he wanted to deliver it so as to look at how it was when connected to the Amazone Grass Hopper mower.

As he drove on to the property, I hid behind a wall to Blip him whizz by. He later asked if he had been caught in a radar trap! :-)

What a fantastic job he has done. Not only did he do the "main" jobs of exchanging the water pump and getting the MOT done but he also replaced, repaired a whole host of small things that had been neglected and/or no longer worked. Brilliant - feel like I have a new machine and will now have to treat her much better.

Cold starting remains a problem but he has now made a way of making it easier and she smokes quite a bit when running. Starting when warm is no problem whatsoever. Jürgen says the only way to solve these problems is to do a good motor service, replacing lots of gaskets etc. He suggest we save up and think about doing it next winter.

Jürgen then connected the Amazone and has a couple of things he wants to get corrected in the next week or so. Minor things though.

So now road legal and all set for the spring which was very evident today, another cracking good one.

Thank you Jürgen for a really great job.

Seems like the tractor will be my prefered means of transport for a while. The jeep is causing consternation at the garage, the problem seldom appearing but something not right. They don't think it is major but will require more investigation next week. So car-less again next week. Even if minor it will still no doubt be expensive!
