McKanes Falls Bridge
See LARGE.
A Blue Mountains district road I have never taken you along is McKane's Falls Rd. It is actually closer to a place called South Bowenfels and runs roughly parallel to the Jenolan Caves Rd and Cox's River Rd, all heading south toward wilderness areas. The scenery is excellent and I shall shoot more images along here in the months to come. At one point along the way, the road narrows to a single lane and crosses a very old "McDonalds timber truss" road bridge dating from 1893.
I was on location a little after midday which is very much a "no no" especially in summer months. Just by way of an experiment I did the shoot anyway but went for HDR exposure sets to see if they would overcome the problem of harsh, super contrasty light.
