Particles & Waves

Tabletop university

I was at the elevator after a meeting at another part of campus when I spotted this cardboard rendering if the quad area. York University does a lot of work with kids and local communities so I think this was done via one of those activities.

Aside from the lack of trees, it is nicely done! In the centre of the quad (the Harry Arthurs Common) is the lawn and the reflecting pool. At the back is the Ross Building with Vari Hall and rotunda in front. To the left going counterclockwise from Vari are Accolade West lecture halls, the Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts, Burton Auditorium, Green Studio Theatre, Accolade East (theatres, studios, art gallery, and performance spaces), and Schulich School of Business. Going clockwise from Vari are the Behavioural Science Building, the Student Centre, York Lanes Mall & Offices, and the Kaneff Tower (aka York Research Tower). To jazz it up, a GO bus (at left) and a TTC bus (at right) represent the bus loop. Oh, and there is a little tour guide, too. Cool.
