Castle of Imstenrade

In the fourteenth century there was a castle in Imstenrade. The name Imstenrade means mining around a stone building and, therefore, that it is an old agricultural area. In the slopes was formerly, on a small scale lime, silt and gravel won.

In 1908 left a rich ship owner on the edge of the plateau a castle-like villa. The villa is surrounded by a park-like garden which dates back to 1928.
