The Cobbler

The north peak shrouded in low cloud gives a ghost like appearance around mid day.

Earlier sun on snow had created a real alpine feel, not for nothing are the peaks around here known as The Arrochar Alps.

The Cobbler(Ben Arthur) rises 884m (2,900ft) from the head of Loch Long, although not a Munro it is probably Scotland's most popular mountain. There are three peaks all with a variety of routes to suit the rock climber, the scrambler and the ordinary hill walker.

,,,,,,,,,and to quench a thirst at the end of the expedition there are two good hostelries in Arrochar.
