Hanging Out
The poor miserable looking, rather tatty, squirrel has been Ollie's favourite toy for many years. He brings squirrel to you whenever you sit down, it's an invitation to play, a "here I am" gesture. He is a very gentle dog and never pulls or shakes squirrel but rather he delicately mouths him and is happy to sit just holding him in his mouth, or lie down resting his chin on him.
Squirrel is an indoor toy, but even so ends up getting incredibly mucky so today he, and the reindeer he got from his friends this Christmas, had a good wash and were hung out to dry under the lean to!
Great excitement in the evening when Mike got called down to the village hall. Film night and one of the speakers wasn't working so he and his soldering iron were required! He managed to repair it in time and we had a very enjoyable evening watching Le Weekend.
It is a very civilised set up, chairs and tables arranged in the hall with tea lights on them and you bring your own refreshments, although because it was such a cold night tea and coffee were provided! More than 25 folk turned up and I spotted grapes, cheese straws, crisps, chocolates and sweeties, cans of beer and several bottles of wine being consumed! Great way to start the weekend.
