Great Crested Grebes Courtship

Podiceps cristatus

I have been back to the same place three times now hoping to get some decent pictures of the courtship of these grebes. Sadly, they have never come close enough to give me a decent shot and the light (what there is of it) is mostly behind them rendering them more in silhouette necessitating much processing on the computer.

The male pulled some weed once and they did the neck stretching and synchronised head-shaking but sadly, I never got to see them running on the water.
