Muckle Flugga

A mixture of weather today. Cold when in the breezey wind mixed with sunny spells and rainy showers.

Weekend off and headed up to Unst with friend Brian for the day. My plans failed as my sister Julie was busy and wasn't about but did get a cup of tea and chat with Ingram her husband. The run up to Unst wasn't wasted as we went visiting various places around the isle with Sammy dog. On the way home via Frankies chippy for tea :)

Muckle Flugga is the most northerly part of the UK (as Shetland does almost have the most northerly everthing lol) and on top sits the Muckle Flugga lighthouse. Must have been a scary place to work on a winters night when it was manned. It's a scattered bunch of small rocky skerries and looks like there's little plant life on it but plenty of birds in the summer months. Note the stairs to the left going up the rocks and used for landing supplies etc to the light.
