Red Deer Surprise

Walking along Duke's Drive in Curbar / Calver this morning I was surprised and delighted to see these two red deer just above the road.
The stag has shed last year's antlers and is starting to grow the next set. That means that somewhere out there is a beautiful pair of large antlers - wouldn't you just love to fall over them!
They let me stand and look for a few minutes, Jackson didn't seem to notice them - what a treat for me.
