Clubbing

Mrs W and I went clubbing! Haven't done that for a while. While Mr H went out celebrating his 18th birthday playing "pub golf" (18 pubs and a pint in each). We went to The Worlds End pub in Finsbury park.

The function room has recently been refurbished and was the venue for the Helzapoppin Club. Heavily tattooed ladies, crossed dressed men and sharp suited cockneys were all in the mix of clientele. Very Bohemian.

A typical London dance floor, very fast, very slick and the DJ showed no mercy. I was pleased to say we held our own! (Just) We could rockabilly with the rock n roll numbers, Charleston to the the jazz and Lindy with the swing numbers. It worked well.

There were some really great sounds, relentless driving rhythms. I'm still very envious of the super cool dudes with all the fancy footwork. One day I'll crack it! Till then I'm going to have to keep pounding up and down the lounge.
