White Night in Melbourne

I got a lot done Saturday, and met some NZ friends in town. Then I popped home for a nap, before heading back in for White Night. And the whole city had changed!

Hundreds of thousands of people, light displays, bands, ravers, families, street food and more.

It runs from 7pm to 7am, and around 11 we found ourselves across the Yarra looking at The Vortex. You could see it from ages away, with birds circling in the light. Up close it put out a low bass rumble, and dozens of people were lying on the ground looking up at the teepee of light that it formed. Very cool.
