February Sun

February sun is common in Thailand, but the sun brings heat. This next week is forecasting a high of 34*C/93*F. Not too bad, but nothing near the typical February temperatures of places farther north in the hemisphere.

These flowering trees are common in Bangkok. They remind me that spring is coming other places. Thailand's seasonal cycle doesn't include "spring." This season is referred to as "cool" season, meaning hot (but not yet really hot) and dry (humid but no rain.) It still fascinates me the way different frames of reference lead us different labels.
