Dublin to Kinsale

An early start, leaving the Price residence at 5:30, Claire and I set off for Birmingham airport. The flight was pretty much an up and straight back down kind of affair to Dublin which only took 45mins with Ryanair. Stepping off the plane at just after 9:00 felt more like we had landed in Spain than Ireland which was pleasant being 19 degrees. The temperature wouldn't be pleasant for long as when we picked up the beautiful coloured hire car (metallic gold/brown fiesta) we found out there was no aircon even though I had booked it.
Leaving the airport we headed straight for the Wicklow National Park. This is a magnificent area of natural beauty on a par with some of the best I've been to around the world. Cyclist and motorcyclist were out enjoying the area and weather. We stopped for many photo opportunities and walked around to take in the wonders. After getting our nature fix we headed down south to Kinsale using the motorway as time was getting on, 240km later we arrive at the lovely port town and find our hotel. Easily the nicest hotel in kinsale and a location that was perfect to enable us to get anywhere from the front door.
Quick check in, toilet stop and freshen up before we both head out onto the sea front to take photos and take in what the seaside town had to offer.

After a quick taster of Kinsale we headed back to the hotel for a shower and wardrobe change to go out for dinner. After walking around the town a total of three times, watching a few hippies play some tunes we finally ended up at the first restaurant we went past called Max's which specialised in fish. As we were so close to the sea I thought it best to have fish so opted for the sea bass which came with a lovely puree, veg and potatoes. Claire had a rack of lamb with creadcromb coating. Oh had a lovely Brie parcel for starter. After the really early start to the day all we wanted after dinner was bed but we did make the effort to have a drink in the hotel bar first.
