Spent protea flower

I've frequently blipped these flowers in their prime, but today, looking at the spent flowers, they seemed to have a beauty of their own. I find the curled, tan brown, dried-up petals attractive, with their darker-brown veins and still soft, furry edge, They last like this for a long time, until I feel I need to trim them to tidy the plants, and encourage the new growth.
