Spring is a messy time...

Up here in mid-Sweden the snow melt is a messy time. If it comes too early (like the end of february!) it's not even a very uplifting time. The snow becomes grey and as it melts it reveals gravel and dead grass. The trees are also grey and waiting for real warmth to expand their buds. There are no flowers because the earth is still cold and the days too short and for the same reason the new grass doesn't come through.
So I'm hoping for more snow, a lot more snow, and some really cold nights to keep that new snow in place. If that happens then we'll get our special season, the spring winter with its special mix of snow and sun and warmth and cold.
You people living in snowy places know what I mean.
Here's hoping!
