The alps - again

I shouldn't have been up here today, I was hoping for a quiet day at home after ducking out early from yesterday's wedding. But I can't complain, it's not that often I get called from standby.
On the way out of Nice we got a great clear view over the alps, something I often take pictures of but it always looks so brilliantly dramatic. You can't see here but some of the slopes had an orange tinge to them. Mine and the captains best theorising was that sand from Africa had been carried and dropped on them as happens occasionally in the UK, but because of the lack of snow on the peaks it was more obvious than usual at this time of year - at least that's our theory.
