I had every intention of rotating and cropping this, but since I haven't managed I thought I should just get my finger out and catch up with my blip posting, and also having it upside down is, well, ironic I suppose.

I learnt to read maps doing D of E expeditions, which I think I have referred to earlier, but they were some of the best experiences of my teens. We would sit around Mrs W's kitchen table with Naismith's rule and 'grid to mag; add'. Soon the latter will cease to be correct. To be honest it wasn't a very good mnemonic anyway, but I was still quite disturbed by this.
