Tenant Matters

About once a month I sit as a co-opted member on a Tenants' Board. I really enjoy being able to keep up a connection with the housing world. When I first came to Liverpool in the 70's I worked in a Housing Aid Centre and tried to get my Union branch of NALGO to establish links with the Netherley Flat Dwellers. At one stage some of them camped in St. Johns Gardens in the city centre to draw attention to their conditions. Those flats were all eventually demolished and conditions now are immeasurably better, but there remain issues to be addressed. Some of the original activists are still involved.
