The UP side of a DOWNpour.

It works wonders for the local waterfalls.
First 1/2 day we "festered", so by the time we'd decided ...
A ) To go.
B ) Where to go.
we'd lost all sight of that magnificent thing I believe MIGHT be called "The Sun".
all the way to Ambleside it absolutely CHUCKED it down.
"Oh, what odds? We can have a brew @ Hayes and it's got us over the doorstep."
Thank Google© for a series of maps I can land on and drive around. I knew there were a couple of "Disk zones" up Stockghyll Lane. I hadn't, then, discovered that it becomes "Private Road" and consequently not many folk go up it unless they live there.
It stopped peezling down as we arrived, and stayed thus for the duration of the walk :¬))
A FULL ROW of roadside parking right at the entrance to the path. We got up, rattling off shots all the while, and back with 10mins of our allotted hour to spare.
Even "unenbiggered" I can just see the top bridge which, next time we might get as far as.
Brew @ Hayes and "Home in time for tea". Chicken salad, it was a BIG one on Sunday and there's only two of us.

Oh BTW, do NOT ask why Gill is spelt "Ghyll" I haven't a "Nine-gallon" clue.
If in doubt, look up "9 gallon beer barrel" (Or 9 gallon cask)
